Since 2018, Huis te JaarsveldĀ has been on an ambitious journey of revival, merging its aristocratic past with forward-thinking sustainability. The result? A country retreat that doesnāt just preserve historyāit enhances it. Once owned by William of Orange, the estate holds a significant place in Dutch history, with past owners including Philips William, son of William of Orange, and the descendants of Johan de Witt. The original Veldenstein Castle, located on the property, was destroyed by French troops in 1762, but the medieval layout, complete with double moats, a castle island, and a forecourt, remains intact. The current manor was constructed around 1760, expanded in 1867, and restored in 1974.
