Pagliacci / Cavalleria Rusticana


5–23 September 2026

One of opera's most celebrated double bills returns to Amsterdam. These two masterpieces of Italian verismo combine passion, betrayal, jealousy, and murder in a powerful evening of unforgettable music and drama.



Cherry Town

8–20 October 2026

A contemporary opera exploring themes that resonate strongly today, including housing shortages, corruption, and love. A large-scale production that demonstrates how opera continues to engage with modern society.


Lennox

10 October – 6 December 2026

This moving and accessible contemporary work follows young Lennox as he struggles to understand his father's illness while the adults around him remain silent. A touching story about family, courage, and growing up.


Johannes-Passion

10–26 November 2026

Bach's masterpiece receives a theatrical interpretation by Dutch National Opera. Rather than experiencing the work in a church or concert hall, audiences are invited into a dramatic production that brings new emotional depth to this timeless composition.


Der fliegende Holländer

3-27 December 2026

Wagner's haunting tale of redemption, destiny, and eternal wandering arrives on the Amsterdam stage. One of the composer's most beloved operas, it combines sweeping orchestral music with powerful storytelling inspired by maritime legends.


The 10 + 1 Strings of Captain Ud

13 December 2026 - 3 January 2027

A family-friendly contemporary production that blends music, imagination, and storytelling, introducing younger audiences to the world of opera through an adventurous and visually engaging experience.
