2024 may bring the best auroras in 20 years

Ever dreamt of witnessing the northern lights? The time is now! Scientists predict the Solar Maximum in the years of 2024-25-26 will result in the most frequent and impressive Northern Lights displays in more than a decade.

Solar activity, a key player in the intensity of the aurora borealis, is at the heart of this celestial ballet. There are 11 years between such peaks, and we expect to reach a new peak in 2025," says Pål Brekke, Head of Space Research at the Norwegian Space Agency. This enhanced solar activity often translates into more significant and frequent manifestations of the Northern Lights. There won’t be a better time to see the Northern Lights for at least another 11 years!

So, pack your warmest layers, grab your camera, and get ready to be part of a celestial performance that promises to be etched in your memory forever. Iceland awaits, offering a winter wonderland, creating a spectacle that transcends the boundaries of earthly beauty. See our Sample Itinerary for Iceland - fall and winter.
